Pricing

Two real numbers, published so you can work out quickly whether this is the right fit. Below them, an honest explanation of what actually drives the cost of styling, because the difference between a wedding at the floor and one several times that is not mystery, it is four or five specific things.

What It Costs

Two real numbers, published so you can tell quickly whether this is the right fit.

Event Styling

from$1,200

Engagement parties, corporate events, milestone birthdays and private celebrations.

Wedding Styling

from$5,000

Ceremony and reception styled in full, with florals and hire coordinated throughout.

Every event is then quoted on its own detail. Full wedding planning is quoted on scope: see what planning covers.

Why These Numbers Are Published

Most stylists will not, and it wastes everybody's time.

The industry standard is to withhold pricing until an enquiry has been made, on the theory that value can be established in conversation first. In practice it means couples spend weeks enquiring with stylists who were never in their range, and stylists spend weeks quoting work that was never going to happen.

So: event styling starts at $1,200 and wedding styling starts at $5,000. If those numbers do not work for your budget, you have found that out in ten seconds rather than ten days, and there is no awkward conversation for either of us.

These are starting points, not fixed prices. Nobody can quote a wedding without knowing the venue, the guest count and what is actually being asked for. What follows is what moves the number between the floor and wherever your event lands.

What Drives the Cost

Five variables, in roughly the order they matter.

Venue size and ceiling height
The single biggest driver, and the one couples underestimate most. A room with a nine metre ceiling needs installations at a scale that a four metre room does not, and scale costs money in materials, labour and rigging. The same styling direction can differ by thousands between two venues purely on volume.
Guest count
Every additional table is another centrepiece, more linen, more glassware and more place settings. The relationship is close to linear, which makes it the easiest variable to model and the easiest one to adjust if the budget is tight.
How much of the room is transformed
There is a large gap between styling the tables in a room that already looks good and transforming a blank space. A venue with existing chandeliers, good lighting and a finished floor gives you a great deal for free. A bare warehouse or a marquee on grass means the floor, the lighting, the walls and the ceiling all become your responsibility.
Installation complexity
Anything suspended, rigged, built on site or requiring specialist labour moves the number significantly, because it brings in crew, equipment and time. A ceiling installation is a different order of cost to a backdrop that stands on the floor, and venue permissions often decide whether it is possible at all.
Install window and access
A venue that gives a full day for bump in costs less to style than one that gives three hours between events, because a compressed window needs more crew working at once. Difficult access, no loading dock, stairs or a long carry all have the same effect.

What Is Not Charged For

So you know where the line sits.

The Initial Consultation

Complimentary. It covers a genuine conversation about your event, the direction, and an honest view of what your budget will carry. If the budget and the ambition do not meet, you will be told at that point rather than after a deposit.

Itemised Quotes

Free, and broken down line by line. You see what each element costs before committing, and you can adjust the scope rather than being handed a single total to accept or decline.

Travel Within Sydney

Included. Travel to Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and the Central Coast is itemised separately and visibly, including accommodation where an early install requires it, rather than being absorbed into an inflated styling figure.

Getting More From the Budget

Four decisions that consistently make the money go further.

Choose the Venue Carefully

The most effective styling decision is made before styling starts. A venue that already has good bones costs a fraction to style compared to a blank space that needs everything. Ask what the room gives you before you sign.

Concentrate, Do Not Spread

One arresting ceremony installation and clean, consistent tables reads as expensive. The same budget spread evenly across every surface reads as busy. Pick the two moments that matter and do those properly.

Move the Date if You Can

A Friday or Sunday, or a date outside the October to April peak, changes what suppliers charge and what is available. If the date is flexible, it is the cheapest lever you have.

Use What the Venue Includes

Many venues include linen, centrepieces or basic furniture. There is no sense paying twice. Shabz will look at what is already in your venue package and style around it.

Common Questions

Wedding styling with Shabz starts from $5,000. Where a wedding lands above that depends mostly on venue size and ceiling height, guest count, how much of the room is transformed, installation complexity and the length of the install window.

Event styling starts from $1,200. That floor covers engagement parties, corporate events, milestone birthdays and private celebrations. The same variables apply, with guest numbers and the amount of the room being styled usually mattering most.

No. The initial consultation is complimentary, and it includes an honest view of what your budget will carry. If the numbers do not work, you will hear that at the consultation rather than later.

Travel within Sydney is included. Travel to Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and the Central Coast is itemised separately in the quote, including accommodation where an early install requires an overnight stay.
