The Approach
Restraint is harder than abundance, and it lasts longer.
A wedding room has to do two things at once. It has to look considered in photographs that will be looked at for decades, and it has to feel comfortable to sit in for six hours. Most styling gets the first and forgets the second.
Shabz starts with the venue rather than a mood board. A room with a nine metre ceiling and existing chandeliers needs a completely different approach to a bare warehouse or a marquee on grass. The styling either works with what the space already gives you or it fights it, and fighting it is expensive.
From there the decisions are about hierarchy. Which two or three moments deserve real investment, and which can be handled simply and well. A wedding where every surface is styled to the same intensity reads as busy. A wedding with one arresting ceremony installation, a properly considered bridal table and clean, consistent guest tables reads as expensive, and usually costs less.
Guest experience decides the rest. Centrepieces that block sight lines across a table, arrangements that force people to lean around them, aisle styling that narrows a walkway below what a dress needs. These are the details that separate styling that works from styling that photographs.
What Is Included

- Consultation and concept
- A conversation about the wedding you actually want, followed by a direction developed against your venue, your guest count and your budget. You see where the money is going before you commit.
- Ceremony styling
- Arbour or backdrop, aisle treatment, seating arrangement, signing table and the surrounding detail. Indoor or outdoor, with a contingency plan where the ceremony is exposed to weather.
- Reception styling
- Bridal table, guest tables, entry moment, cake and stage areas, and any ceiling or wall installation the venue allows. Linen, glassware, chargers, napery, place settings and signage coordinated to one direction.
- Florals
- Shabz is not a florist and does not pretend to be. Florals are briefed and coordinated through florists chosen for the style your wedding needs, then integrated with the rest of the styling so the room reads as one decision.
- Hire coordination
- Shabz does not hold stock. Everything hired is sourced through a supplier network he has built over six years, which means you deal with one person instead of five, and delivery windows are coordinated with venue operations rather than left to chance.
- Install and pack down
- Shabz is on site for the install and returns for the pack down. Nothing is left for your family to carry home at midnight.

The Bridal Table
Elevated in every sense. It sits in the sight line of the room for the whole reception and appears in more photographs than any other surface, so it takes a different level of detail to the guest tables.
Guest Tables
Consistency matters more than complexity here. Height controlled so people can see across, a repeated language rather than variation for its own sake, and enough clear surface for the meal to actually work.
The Room Itself
Lighting, draping, ceiling treatments and the entry. This is where a venue is transformed or simply decorated, and it is the difference guests feel without being able to name.

It is a starting point rather than a fixed package, because a sixty guest wedding and a three hundred guest wedding need different things. In practice the floor covers a considered ceremony setup and reception styling for a smaller guest count, with florals coordinated through the supplier network. Anything beyond that is quoted on the detail.

Shabz is a stylist, not a florist. Florals are coordinated through florists selected for the look your wedding needs, briefed by Shabz and integrated with the rest of the styling. The advantage is that you are not limited to one florist house style. More on florals.
Six to twelve months ahead is the comfortable window, particularly for Saturday dates in peak season between October and April. Shorter timelines are often workable, so it is worth asking rather than assuming the date has gone.
